Our Story

Amigos is a unique, much loved preschool at the heart of the Hove community. For 26 years we have nurtured children’s early years.
Our team of long-standing and highly experienced staff provide a haven for relaxed child-led play, ensuring multiculturalism and diversity are woven into our activities. We accept children from their 2nd birthday until they start at school.

We have been established since 1999 and have a vast knowledge of the way young children learn in a friendly setting (and we know a few different languages too!) We encourage positive images of people from all ethnic and cultural groups and people with and without disabilities. We believe it is vital for young children to learn about different customs, religious and cultural beliefs and disabilities.
Our Mission
A Caring and Supportive Environment

At Amigos Multicultural Nursery, we are committed to offering a welcoming, supportive, and dynamic environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. We believe that every child is unique and should be treated with respect and care. Our focus is on building a community where children feel safe, confident, and encouraged to discover their world, take risks, and progress at their own pace.

We see learning as a continuous journey, where children gain new skills and knowledge in a nurturing and sensory-rich environment. We embrace the individual needs and interests of each child, allowing us to tailor learning experiences that help them flourish. At our nursery, we celebrate diversity and ensure that every child feels valued and respected, fostering an atmosphere where they can develop their full potential.
Our Philosophy
Learning Through Playful Exploration

At our nursery, we believe that children thrive and learn best through play. Our dedicated team collaborates with parents to help them understand the powerful role of play in a child's development and guide them on how to support their children's learning at home.
Our nursery's core values of community and diversity shape our approach to preparing children for the next step in their educational journey. We aim to equip each child with the tools to navigate both formal education and life’s challenges. In addition to fostering academic growth, we focus on nurturing social skills, boosting self-esteem, and celebrating each child’s individuality. Through play, we create a space where children feel safe to express their thoughts, feelings, and ideas, while building a strong sense of belonging in a diverse and inclusive community.
